54. Government offices. To transfer from District of Columbia departments, or bureaus thereof, and independent agencies to other localities, hearings before subcommittees, 77th Congress, 1st session [and 2d session], pursuant to H. Res. 209, resolved, that the President is requested and authorized to direct transfer from District of Columbia to Chicago or elsewhere such departments, or bureaus thereof, and such independent agencies whose activities can be conducted at least as efficiently and economically in such locality designated by him, Dec. 2, 1941-Jan. 8, 1942.
