    Americanization. Americanization bill, hearing on S. 17, to promote education of native illiterates, of persons unable to understand and use English language, and of other resident persons of foreign birth, for cooperation with States in education of such persons in English language, fundamental principals of Government and citizenship, elements of knowledge pertaining to self-support and home making, and in such other work as will assist in preparing such illiterates and foreign-born persons for successful living and intelligent American citizenship.
