NOTE.—In this insert the solutions of the illustrative examples are made in accordance with the arrangement of the Nautical almanac for 1925, in which the ephemerides of the celestial bodies are given with reference to the hours of the day counted from midnight to midnight instead of from noon to noon as was done in the volumes before 1925, and the time is designated as civil time instead of mean time. This insert will bring the 1923 edition of Publication 203 in conformity with the 1924 edition, for which see the Monthly catalogue for Nov. 1924, p. 298.
