Government officials and employees. Executive order [amending Executive order of June 19, 1924, by directing that employees be permitted to remain in positions they were occupying on July 1, 1924, and may receive salary increases up to maximum of grade to which such positions have been allocated, but shall not thereby be given any status for promotion, transfer, or reinstatement different from that which they have regularly acquired under civil service law and rules, except that Civil Service Commission may, without examination, permit reinstatement or promotion in same Department or establishment back to same class of positions as that occupied on July 1, 1924, after separation or demotion without fault or delinquency].
