Notes:
Leave of absence, regularly granted by local office and not disapproved by General Land Office, serves to protect settler while in effect and his absence thereunder does not afford ground for presumption against his good faith. Allegation to effect that evidence on which leave of absence was obtained is false and fraudulent must be affirmatively established to warrant favorable action thereon. Failure of homesteader to make a living on his land is not necessarily evidence of lack of good faith. Homestead law does not define character or value of improvements required at hands of settler.
