NOTE.—H. R. 10594 abolishes the present Naval Reserve and creates in lieu thereof a new Naval Reserve to consist of the Fleet Reserve, the Organized Reserve, the Merchant Marine Reserve, and the Volunteer Reserve, all created by this bill.
This bill also abolishes the present Marine Corps Reserve and creates in lieu thereof a new Marine Corps Reserve to consist of the Fleet Marine Corps Reserve, the Organized Marine Corps Reserve, and the Volunteer Marine Corps Reserve, all created by this bill.
The bill, as here reported, also establishes an honorary retired list for the Naval Reserve, provides for the convening annually of a Naval Reserve Policy Board, and provides for a Naval Militia, but does not contain provision for the training of civilians at naval training stations or elsewhere.
