NOTE.—The Federal register act, Public 220, 74th Congress (49 Stat. 500-503) provides as follows: There shall be published in the Federal register all Presidential Proclamations and Executive orders, except such as have no general applicability and legal effect or are effective only against Federal agencies or persons in their capacity as officers, agents, or employees thereof.
The distribution of Executive orders and Proclamations was transferred, beginning Mar. 12, 1936, from the Department of State to the Division of the Federal Register, National Archives. Free distribution will only be to appropriate agencies of the Government. If copies of the Executive orders and Proclamations which do not appear in the Federal register are desired, they can be obtained by placing a standing order with the Superintendent of Documents, Washington. D. C., with an initial deposit of $5.00. The individual price will be 5c. per copy. The Register will be sold by the Superintendent of Documents on a subscription basis of $1.00 per month or $10.00 per year. Those Executive orders and Proclamations published in the Federal register will not be issued separately, but title entries for such Executive orders and Proclamations, with reference to the Federal register, appear above and below.
