Naval petroleum reserves. Title to submerged lands, hearings, 76th Congress, 1st session, on S. J. Res. 83, relative to establishment of naval petroleum reserve in submerged lands along and adjacent to coast of California, and S. J. Res. 92, declaring conservation of petroleum deposits underlying submerged lands adjacent to and along coast of California, below low-water mark and under Territorial waters of United States, essential for national defense, maintenance of Navy, and regulation and protection of interstate and foreign commerce, reserving same as naval petroleum reserve, subject to any superior vested right, title, or interest, and authorizing appropriate judicial proceedings to assert, ascertain, establish, and maintain right and interest of United States in such reserve, and to eject trespassers, Mar. 27-30, 1939.
