Notes:
[Modified polyconic projection.] and NOTE.—These maps show in color, to a scale of 1: 250,000, the Federal aid and State highways, with status of improvement, principal connecting roads, railroads, airways and airports, canals and dredged channels—in short, all the media of organized transportation. They also show the boundaries or locations of National and State forests and parks, Indian reservations, military reservations and recreational areas with the roads leading to them. Special maps to a larger scale (1: 125,000) printed as inserts on the regular sheets, where practicable, show in better detail, the transportation routes within the larger metropolitan areas. The sheets are uniform in size, 26X36 inches, oriented with the longer dimension cast and west.
