The purpose of the bulletins is to disseminate instruction and information prepared by the technical services and staff divisions pertaining to supply matters. Each bulletin bears the basic number or the abbreviation of the preparing agency or of the subject matter, and a subnumber. Information appearing under basic number 9 was formerly issued in Ordnance field service bulletins, some of which are still in effect.
