They also show the boundaries or locations of National and State forests and parks. Indian reservations, military and naval reservations and recreational areas with the roads lending to them. Special maps to a larger scale (1:125,000) printed as inserts on the regular sheets, where practicable, show in heller detail the transportation routes within the larger metropolitan areas. The sheets are uniform in size 26X36 inches, oriented with the longer dimension east and west. Maps in this series of more than half the States have been published and others are in course of preparation. Revised editions are prepared and published from time to time.
