[Prepared in cooperation with Wisconsin.] and NOTE.—The Geological Survey makes contoured maps—three-dimension topographic maps which are designed eventually to cover the whole United States and Alaska. The individual maps are projected to represent quadrangle areas rather than political divisions, each map is designated by the name of some prominent town or natural feature within that area.
About half of the continental area of the country, excluding Alaska, has been mapped, every State being represented. Connecticut Delaware, the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, and West Virginia are completely mapped. Index maps showing topographic maps published for each State are available without cost on request to The Director, Geological Survey. Except as otherwise Indicated, a discount of 20 percent is allowed on an order for maps, or for maps and geologic folios, that amounts to $10.00 at the retail price. In ordering, give the name and scale of each map and the State in which the area lies.
